Wireless electricity, is it possible?

Posted in Electricity, alternative fuel with tags , , , , , , on May 19, 2009 by matts3471

Electricity can be an expensive commodity at times. Well imagine this flipping a switch in your house and getting electricity through the air, exactly like radio waves. Instead of having your house attached to wires simply having an antenna on your roof . It is possible through the use of tesla coils and resonant technology. Nikola tesla was obsessed with the idea of wireless transmission of electrical energy. It is said he once used his massive tesla coil in colorado springs to transmit electricity over 20 miles through the air.

Well this may seem like a far fetched impossible idea it is in fact possible to send useable electricity through the air. I did some tests with a small tesla coil i builtand found i could transmit power up to two feet, mind you this was a very very small coil about 6 inches tall. I had a recieving coil with a christmas light at the end, it lit up brightly when the coil was turned on this shocked me. I trully did not expect it to work.

This is however merly a novelty, it would take an incredible amount of electricity just to send it, it would cost way too much to run, also the idea of sending electricity through thin air could cause unforseen negative health effects. So it is merely a novelty but it is a very interesting idea to know that electricty can be wirelessly transmitted. There is some modern work going on with coils and such today with limeted results but it is promising. Perhaps one day there will be no more plugs merely switches, only time shall tell.

Swine Flu

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , on May 19, 2009 by matts3471

The swine flu seems to be a big topic about the nation recently, But really what makes it such a big deal? an epidemic? In all reality the swine flu seems to me anyways to be no more dangerous that your average flu. Yet we dont see the regular flu in the news every day we dont see people needlessly killing off animals that really have nothing to do with the human epidemic all throughout the world. People have vastly overreacted to this. Probably because it has its own name, Its something new most people have never heard off. People always fear new things. So far as im concerned its no more dangerous than a fly.

Good grades? smart or just lucky?

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , on September 30, 2008 by matts3471

Ok im just randomly blogging about this now because this annoys me when people judge me on how smart i am from my grades. First off ill admit i dont get the best grades but really how much do grades really matter? To me the only thing grades mean is that you know how to work the system, thats a good skill but seriously ive seen some people who i swear have no idea what theyre doing but they get As all the way through yet you couldnt get an educated conversation out of them if your life depended on it. When were taught in school thats all were tested on. Were tested on what we remember from the pointless lectures and rants. Not on what we really know if you can hold onto a peice of information long enough to put it down on your test you get an A you dont need to understand what your doing in order to get that. And this is why i think our school systems are flawed severly. Also the teachers also dont always have the right facts, now i give them credit they have to remember alot of things so a few descrepencies are expected i suppose. I remember last year my history teacher was talking about world war two and the atom bombs. Our teacher mistakenly said that the two bombs were fission and fusion which he was right in the fact that they were different but not fusion and fission different, but rather one was fueled by uranium 235 the other by plutonium, they were both fission devices.Fusion didnt come along until 1952, 7 years after the end of world war two, So essentially what im saying is that school doesnt test you on your knowledge it tests you on what you can remember of the crap youve been fed. I dont get the best grade usually around 70s and low 80s but i know enough that not everything they teach us is the truth, i know enough to research something further whereas other people the ones who get As blindly believe that what ever the teacher says is true 100%, and thats what i think is wrong with our society.

Drinking Age 18?

Posted in Politics, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , on August 28, 2008 by matts3471

There has been a fair deal of controversy lately about lowering the legal drinking age back down to 18. The idea behind the change is that it hasn’t done anything to help the problem of alcohol with minors but has only made it worse. I agree no matter what you do they will still drink and if you alienate them by making it illegal at a younger age then you will put them in a more dangerous situation outside of a controlled environment. A nice time home with friends drinking isĀ  a lot safer than out in parties with who knows what going around and always running from the police so they don’t get busted for underage drinking, I am 17 years old, i think more like these people i personally do not drink. But i know people who do and the fact that its illegal well that doesn’t make a bit of difference at all they’re still going to do it,when are adults going to understand that we don’t live in some fairytale world where people do exactly as they’re told and that telling them to do something else wont work at all? People need to think more and logically about these things all the current drinking age is doing is pushing people to do it where they wont get caught where theres no supervision and the conditions are very dangerous whereas if it were legal they could do it under much safer circumstances ie a bar rather than off in the woods at some party… think about that. I think the drinking age should be lowered to around 12.. i know i will get comments telling me thats outrageous… but is it really? Europe does similar things and they don’t have nearly as big of a problem as we do. If we teach out kids to use it properly then there will be a far less chance of them abusing it. Think about it first drink 12 years old family setting, every things safe you learn how to use it safely. Or first drink 21 years old some party you get drunk beyond your own control because you never learned moderation and you go get behind the wheel and get in an accident and kill someone. I rest my case.

Medical Marijuana The government should recognize it.

Posted in Politics, hemp with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 18, 2008 by matts3471

Let me start off this post by stating that i in no way advocate the use of marijuana as a recreational drug. If you’ve seen my blog before you will know that i am very pro hemp. Well i came across a documentary on marijuana use and it was centered largely around medical marijuana and how proposition 215 in California can be overcome by the federal government because it is only a state legislation. Well i watched it showed many DEA raids on medical marijuana facilities and many people who genuinely legitimately needed medical marijuana were arrested or were protesting with tears in their eyes. Medical marijuana can be used to ease the pain from AIDS if i recall right isn’t aids one of the nations top priorities? The government seems to focus more on the prevention of aids now don’t get me wrong prevention is very important but that doesn’t mean you should just throw those people who are already infected with aids in jail and conflict them of felonies for merely trying to ease the pain.

It seems the government throws these patients to the streets while claiming to care about AIDS. Granted many people abuse medical marijuana just to get high but they’re making themselves look like complete idiots. Also It is the constitutional right of the state to be able to make its own laws apart from the governments ie prop. 215. The governments failure to recognize this could lead to some serious consequences. One aside from many many riots and conflicts the failure of the government to cooperate with the states is what led to the civil war. I think that the government should either make medical marijuana legal just as many states have but make it harder for those who are just looking for a high to get it. Or stay out of the states who have already legalized its business. Marijuana should be treated as a medication. Not as an illegal substance especially not on schedule 1. Schedule 1 is reserved for substances that have shown to have NO possible medical use. such as cocaine, methemphedamine, lsd and other highly toxic substances. But marijuana has proven itself as a medication capable of helping people in ways that other medications cant. Also so many synthesized medications carry so much more dangerous side effects. What of people who don’t want to die from complications from other medications? To date there is no record of anyone ever being killed by marijuana but every year thousands if not tens of thousands die from prescription medications whether it be from overdose or an unforeseen complication.

So is it really right for the government to arrest those is real need of help and force the people to use other precription medications that carry sometimes deadly side effects? I mean i can see where people don’t want people who are all high running around the streets causing trouble. But medical users some of them are immobile and need assistance an others just need to relax. Imagine it your sitting there one day you have a terrible headache you go get some Tylenol or ibuprofen or some other drug and you get federal agents knocking your front door down and throwing you to the ground, I saw this one pro medical weed video it rang true. It showed this poor old women smoking medical marijuana and the DEA burst in and starts screamer at her to get on the ground. Meanwhile across the street theres a group of teenagers in a meth lab watching it all unfold. And if i recall right the dea shot the woman dead, im not sure i cant find it. Of course this video was just satire but it showed how the DEA is wasting money prosecuting these sick and disabled people while the real criminals could be just across the street brewing up meth and get away clean, METH kills marijuana doesn’t. who’s the real criminal here? The poor old lady probably with cancer or the murderous DEA who burst through her door when she was minding her own business? By the way something like that actually happened where dea agents burst through the door of a 92 year old lady who fired upon them as they threw her door down. She was an old lady who lived in a rough neighborhood you don’t have any clue who could be breaking your door down. I would have done the exact same thing and im a peaceful nonviolent person but if i fear for my life you can bet im shooting whoever s breaking my door down in the middle of the night. The cops were charged with murder and plead guilty.

This is a problem we must correct innocent people are going to jail because of the simple stupidity of the government. I mean the law makers in Washington seem to be so detached lets see what happens when one of them get cancer and no legal drug out there will help them, then what?

Let me once again state that i do not nor do i ever intend to smoke marijuana as a recreational drug. I believe that it should remain as such even so it will shut the government up. I have never smoked weed i see nothing wrong with it. There is NO real data to show that its any more detrimental to your health than cigarettes. But the government supposedly knows whats best for me (yeah right) so i will not somke it.

I hope that some politician or law maker will see that medical marijuana is a necessity and will rise to power and stop the fascist attacks on poor old women. Seriously busting down doors and shooting people is what the Nazis did.

The founding fathers and religion.

Posted in Politics, Religion, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 13, 2008 by matts3471

Many people believe that this nation was founded as a Christian nation. Otherwise why would our money say in god we trust? Right? Wrong most of the founding fathers professed deism a 18th century idea that deviated from the normal religious dogmas and churches. A deist believed that there was a god but that he was not there to interfere with human lives and that praying did no good. Therefore the deist were not atheist but yet had no real religion unless that is you deem deism as a separate religion.

Thomas Jefferson professed to belong to no church or congregation in any way . He belonged to his “own” church meaning that he rejected all religious dogma and beliefs and formed his own about how god should be worshiped. He had this to say about religion “Question with boldness even the existence of a god.”The following statement proves that the nation was founded to not have one single religion…“Congress should not establish a religion and enforce the legal observation of it by law, nor compel men to worship God in any manner contrary to their conscience, or that one sect might obtain a pre-eminence, or two combined together, and establish a religion to which they would compel others to conform” (James Madison, Annals of Congress, 1789).

The founding fathers would likely be appalled by the addition of “in god we trust” on our money and “under god” as stated in our pledge. These were added in the 50s during the era of McCarthyism and fear of communism. There is so little religious freedom in this nation we were formed to be free from religious domination yet Muslims are discriminated against, jews, even Christian sects saying each other aren’t legitimate. Whats happened to this nation we honor the men that formed this nation yet we dishonor their belief that this nation should allow everyone the complete freedom of religion in order to form because they saw how having a state religion was nothing but trouble and a cause of war. Our founding fathers were some of the smartest people in the history of the world. They left us a framework for peace but the common people quickly lost grip on what this nation was founded on. You may not believe this but every year people are killed or tormented for having the wrong religion or worshiping Satan because they don’t believe in Christianity. Now yes i know what your thinking this happens all the time in the world. Right? Well im not talking about the world im talking about right here in the united states the land of the free.

People every year are harrassed by Christians because they believe in the wrong god or no god. Those who believe in such things as reincarnation are considered to be new age freaks and Satan worshipers by some churches or Christian extremist. Benjamin Franklin the inventor the man who’s face graces the 100 dollar bill believed in reincarnation, He wrote this as an epitath to himself in his early years.

Body of B. Franklin,
Printer,
Like the Cover of an Old Book,
It’s Contents Torn Out
And
Stripped of its Lettering and Gilding,
Lies Here
Food for Worms.
But the Work Shall not be Lost
For it Will as He Believed
Appear Once More
In a New and Elegant Edition
Revised and Corrected
By the Author

The last part of this is the most compelling evidence as it shows he believed that like a book he would be “revised and corrected” as an edition of a book would be by the “author” the author Franklin refers to is indeed god. Franklin was a deist. Thomas Paine the man who wrote common sense and made people recognize the tyranny had this to say I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of…Each of those churches accuse the other of unbelief; and for my own part, I disbelieve them all.”
From:
The Age of Reason by Thomas Paine, pp. 8,9 (Republished 1984, Prometheus Books, Buffalo, NY)

George Washington rarely went to church and it is unknown his exact stance on god and he never mentioned his religious ideals to anyone. His affiliation with the Freemasons lead to the idea that he must have believed in god.George Washington, the first president of the United States, never declared himself a Christian according to contemporary reports or in any of his voluminous correspondence. Washington Championed the cause of freedom from religious intolerance and compulsion. When John Murray (a universalist who denied the existence of hell) was invited to become an army chaplain, the other chaplains petitioned Washington for his dismissal. Instead, Washington gave him the appointment. On his deathbed, Washington uttered no words of a religious nature and did not call for a clergyman to be in attendance.

George Washington and Religion by Paul F. Boller Jr., pp. 16, 87, 88, 108, 113, 121, 127 (1963, Southern Methodist University Press, Dallas, TX)

As you can see the nation we now live in was indeed founded with Christian morals this is not argued against but it was by all means meant to be a religiously diverse nation by the founding fathers. They tried to set a precedent that it is not right to force people to religion and that there should be not one state religion and for the most part thanks to the separation of church and state in the constitution there is not one single religion but many consider this a Christian nation which is wrong,If you care to do more research on the subject be my guest there is much more information many other founding fathers held the same beliefs as the ones stated above but i chose not to add them due to space constraints

The olympics…Violence

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on August 12, 2008 by matts3471

Why was china chosen as the place for the Olympics when china has a very poor human rights record. The Olympics are supposed to be a symbol of unity amongst nations. China has blocked nations from participating solely based on their political beliefs. All problems with Tibet aside china is a poorly governed country, Im not bashing china here i like the Chinese culture but i disagree strongly with its government. I would likely be arrested in china for saying this. Is this really were a symbol for peace an unity should be held? And then there was the recent shooting/suicide all things considered violence will accompany the Olympics but i think your just asking for trouble when you choose china to house the Olympics.

I do not mean to offend anyone from china with this blog if i have offended you i am really and truly sorry it is not so much the country and its people i have problems with its the communist government.
