Drinking Age 18?
There has been a fair deal of controversy lately about lowering the legal drinking age back down to 18. The idea behind the change is that it hasn’t done anything to help the problem of alcohol with minors but has only made it worse. I agree no matter what you do they will still drink and if you alienate them by making it illegal at a younger age then you will put them in a more dangerous situation outside of a controlled environment. A nice time home with friends drinking isĀ a lot safer than out in parties with who knows what going around and always running from the police so they don’t get busted for underage drinking, I am 17 years old, i think more like these people i personally do not drink. But i know people who do and the fact that its illegal well that doesn’t make a bit of difference at all they’re still going to do it,when are adults going to understand that we don’t live in some fairytale world where people do exactly as they’re told and that telling them to do something else wont work at all? People need to think more and logically about these things all the current drinking age is doing is pushing people to do it where they wont get caught where theres no supervision and the conditions are very dangerous whereas if it were legal they could do it under much safer circumstances ie a bar rather than off in the woods at some party… think about that. I think the drinking age should be lowered to around 12.. i know i will get comments telling me thats outrageous… but is it really? Europe does similar things and they don’t have nearly as big of a problem as we do. If we teach out kids to use it properly then there will be a far less chance of them abusing it. Think about it first drink 12 years old family setting,every things safe you learn how to use it safely. Or first drink 21 years old some party you get drunk beyond your own control because you never learned moderation and you go get behind the wheel and get in an accident and kill someone. I rest my case.

Hey Matt, sorry it took me so long to start reading your blog!
I’ve been so busy lately…But I finally got some free time today and finally got around to reading your stuff.
I just have to say, wow.
I mean, I knew you were covering all these topics, and you’ve talked with me about a lot of them…But it’s different reading them in your blog lol. You do a very good job covering the topic you propose in your title, and you’re good about sticking to the point and cutting out non-essential data. Most of your stuff is very well written, though, yeah, there are some typos. Who doesn’t have typos lol?
The only criticism I have is that sometimes you get a little repetitive (like your rants lol). It’s not too bad, but remember, everyone likes reading less rather than more. And people will enjoy to read your blog more if you’re concise and to the point.
I know, I know. I’m too picky. But your blog really is amazing, don’t get me wrong. I just want it to be the best it can be.
By the way, I wanted to comment on this post in particular;
Amen! I agree 239487234%. They don’t have nearly the drinking problems in Europe that we have here (I would know hehe). When we went to Greece and Italy, we always had the option of wine with dinner and such. And no one cares, and so they have a fraction of the problems that we do. So yeah, I totally agree with your post on this issue.
Keep writing on these interesting topics! I can’t wait to read more!
